remote access problem into 3640

I have a 3640 with 2 Pri ISDN interfaces with the same phone number. A number of sites access this router via a ISDN2 card in the back of a PC, I am now having problems with 6 different locations having calls rejected, using this setup. Error message from card indicates that the call was not answered, but if PC replaced with a 1720 with an ISDN interface, link comes up on first attempt. When PC is then reinstalled it then works again on first attempt, unfortunately this may only last for 24 hours and calls are again rejected.

You could have a problem with tei negotiation on the PC cards. Try what happens if you disconnect the PC and reconnect it after a minute or so. You may find it works then also.

When the PC reports "calls are rejected" we need to see that the calls are evwn reached all the way to 3640 or not. If not, then there are some issues with the PC and card itself. You can check the status of the isdn line on PC troubleshoot that way.

Now if the calls reached at 3640 and then rejected, we need to see the debug for

debug isdn q931, debug dialer, debug ppp nego with running config. But mostly the calls are not even reaching to 3640 when the problem is there. So check it accordingly in PC and a card.
