Remote shell in CatOS

In IOS, it is possible to get the router or switch to perform remote shell commands by configuring the appropriate ip rcmd commands. Is it possible to do the same thing in CatOS?

Re: Remote shell in CatOS

Kevin,

I'm not sure I understand your question. It is certainly possible to configure the router to respond to rsh commands coming from remote hosts. You need to configure the following:

ip rcmd rsh-enabled.

I do not think CatOS supports rsh.

Let me know if I understood you correctly,

Re: Remote shell in CatOS

Harold,

Yes, you did understand correctly. I wanted to run a script to interrogate several parts of my network by using rsh to the various switches and routers. But as you say, the CatOS switches seem not to support rsh.

Thanks.

Kevin
