Removing an interface

All:

I've disco'ed an unused T1.

I've issued a shut command on the interface.

How do I remove the interface from the config so that I don't have to look at it anymore?

Re: Removing an interface

Hello,

there is no way to do that, you cannot remove a physical interface from the configuration, unless you use an IOS version that does not recognize the interface. Only logical interfaces (e.g. loopback or subinterfaces) can be removed from the config.

Re: Removing an interface

Thanks ... I was unclear. I don't want to remove the interface itself, I just don't want to see the description and other items in the configuration when the interface supported a particular network.

What I want is to merely clean up my configuration file.
