Removing Port Channel from a 6509 Config

Any guidance on removing a portchannel entirely from the config of a 6509? I set the port channel to off, disabled the individual port and removed trunking but it still shows up in my configuration.

are you talking about the port-channel interface still showing up in your config ? My guess is that, the same as with subinterfaces, you need to reboot the switch in order for the interface to disappear completely.

Thanks. Yes, I still see the "set" commands along with the admin group:

set port channel 4/1-2 215

Still see this in the config; but it makes sense that a reboot would clear this as there are no clear commands which will do so.

If you attempt to change etherchannel mode, admin groups are assigned to ports. This is how our switch keeps track of what admin groups are used/to be used.

You would still see the admin groups in the config even if you change the channel mode to off. There is no performance impact whatsoever.
