Replacement router for a Telebit micablazer

I'm looking for a replacement for a telebit Micablazer router. This router has a very useful feature, a built in scripting langauge (TCL).

This has allowed our project to develop scripts to add/remove entries from the routing tables/ filter ip addresses, etc. This is used by a unix application, using telnet to execute the scripting commands on the

mica - allowing the application to set up routes for specific users.

Unfortunatley Telebit are no longer with us, bought out by CISCO I think, and we need a replacement with similar functionality. Is anyone is aware of CISCO or any other routers with similar functionality?

Thanks in Advance

Chris

Re: Replacement router for a Telebit micablazer

It is possible to change Cisco config with a script which emulates a telnet session as yours, then downloads a text file containing the IOS commands from a FTP/TFTP/RCP server.

The commad to use is for FTP transfer :

copy ftp://login:password@server_IP_address/filename running-config

If either you have HP OpenView, the script can use the snmpset command. It uses SNMP to ask the router to download a config file from a TFTP server.

Good luck.
