Wondering if any one has ideas or experience with the following.
I'm trying to replace a Paradyne 9161 csu/dsu w/Bay ASN router with Cisco 2600 w/int csu/dsu (wic-dsu1)
Far End.
Am able to get the interfaces up(Far End) but can not ping Near end of WAN from far end cisco router.
Note: Near end is still matching para 9161/ASN
thx

Are you seeing both Interface and Line Protocol up?
What are you connecting to on the other end? Cisco or Bay ASN? Also is this a point-to-point or frame-Relay?
More info on your config would help.
Thanks

sorry was trying to keep it short.
Yes Frame relay: CT=128/256, FL=64/128, NY=32/64, TX=32/64
Multipoint, CT (main-near end), FL(far), TX(far), NY(far)
CT & FL have matching paradynce 9161 csudsu Bay ASN routers
NY & TX have paradyne 9161csudsu, Bay AN routers.
dlci's CT=100, FL=101, NY=102, TX=103
when trying to replace the FL end, we did finely get Both Int (main and sub) UP and Line Prot - UP
Once the cisco tech had me put in dlci 100 on the FL sub and not 101.
We still could not ping (WAN or LAN interfaces)
Ip address scheme
CT - LAN 172.16.10.x where the BayASN=172.16.10.17
CT - WAN/S int: NY = 172.16.240.1, FL = 172.16.220.1, TX=172.16.230.1
FL - LAN 172.16.20.x, BayASN=172.16.20.1
WAN/S 172.16.220.2
so..on for TX and NY
FL, NY, TX all "come up" to CT for all services IP only.
thx

ok a couple of basic stuff I want to get out of the way:
under the frame-relay configuratiion, do you have "frame-relay ietf"?
Also is the routing process enabled? I've ran into that before and you can't ping anything.
You can make sure by entering at the global config prompt: "ip routing"
thanks

1.)Yep - got IETF
2.) IP ROUTE -check got it
still can ping far end's

Hmmm..kind of hard to troubleshoot this way. Could you maybe post the configs?
Thx.
