I am trying to configure a 3640 for ppp async dial-in from Windows 2000 dial-up networking clients. I have set up an address pool and am supplying boot paramters via asynch-bootp. The clients are logging in OK and picking up all the right TCP/IP parameters EXCEPT that the subnet mask is being set to 255.255.255.255 instead of 255.255.255.0 as speceified in the async-bootp command and the default gateway is being set the same as the client's IP address as allocated from the pool. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Dave

Any chance you could post a snippet of your IOS config?

Thanks for the reply but apparently everything is OK, winipcfg will not return the subnet mask and gateway parameters set in async_bootp even when working correctly!

It doesn't matter what subnet mask the client gets:

If everything else works then what you are seeing is expected. If something is broken we have to look at the "debug ppp nego" to find out what is wrong. Your config would help too.
