Req. for Comments: Cat4K/SUP3/IPX-RIP Routing

Has anyone implemented 12.1(12c)EW on their Cat 4000 Supervisor 3 engine for IPX routing? If so, is it working as expected? Any interoperability issues with your existing routing infrastructure? Other comments? We're using RIP for IPX.

I'm specifying a Sup 2 to Sup 3 upgrade in an existing 4006 to retire a piece of core gear that I won't need anymore. I hate to bet the farm on this new code - this 4006 Sup 3 will be the front end of a major data center for us.

IPX routing in Sup3/4 is done in software and so you'll not see equivalent of IP performance which is done in hardware

IPX is fast switched in sup3/sup4, but there is no interoperability issue with running any ipx routing protocol so far
