Require to save the configuration in set command ?

Hi,

I have never used set command. In general IOS, if I made a configuration change, I need to save the running config to startup config by using:

copy running-config startup-config

Does set command require similar command to save the config to memory ? If yes, pls show the command.

Thanks.

Re: Require to save the configuration in set command ?

In set based switches(CAT OS), there is no concept of running-config and startup-config. Each time you hit the "enter" key after a command, the config gets saved. If you wish, you can back up config to bootflash or a tftp server using "copy config flash" command

Re: Require to save the configuration in set command ?

What about set config mode text?

My understanding was that after using this command you are having running and startup config the same way as on IOS based switches.

set config mode text allows you to save the config in text format rather than binary format

Yes, if you use text mode, use write memory command to save configuration changes.
