Resetting interfaces back to default

Hello,

I am working with 2600 and 2950's and I would like to selectively reset different interfaces back to their default settings or basically clear the interfaces. I've looked but can't find the command to do this. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Resetting interfaces back to default

To clear an interface you can use either of the following:

1: clear int ..

2: perform a shut / no shut

Default settings might not be suitable in all cases as there is a lot that can be changed from default.

For example: speed, duplex mode, trunking mode, access vlan etc etc.

You might create a script that only resets the values that you want like this:

in Fa..

no speed

no dup

end
