Is it possible to retreive the number of MLS flows using SNMP on a Cat6k (fitted with Sup1A/PFC1/MSFC1)? I would like to use MRTG to monitor the number of flows to ensure the number is not getting close to the recommended 32k flows (and therefore requiring the MLS aging timers to be examined and modified).
If you look at the MLS aging configuration in the link below, the switch allows to specify a time limit and threshold of packets for certain flows as the aging parameter. Since this looks like the switch can age an entry only based on these two parameters and there is no way to age/delete flows based on the total number of flows, I doubt whether there will be a capability to do what you want through SNMP.
Hi everyone, I would like to thank you in advance for any help you can provide a newcomer like myself!
