Reverse telnet, router -> switch

Hi, i'm trying to configure a switch without ip, remotely.

I have the router AUX port connected to the switch Console port via Roll-cable When i try to

connect i get:

RouterXPTO#1.1.1.1 2065

Trying 1.1.1.1, 2065 ... Open

But i can't type anything ....(newbie problems )

--------------

Router configuration

interface Loopback0

ip address 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.0

no ip directed-broadcast

line aux 0

no exec

no activation-character

terminal-type VT100

transport preferred none

transport input all

speed 9600

One last thing, can i use a straigth cable to do the connectio ? Thanks

Re: Reverse telnet, router -> switch

your config is almost correct

But try to write these two lines in line aux 0

stopbits 1

flowcontrol hardware

then the router will prompt you for a password

(cisco by default)

That should be it
