RIP_routes_not_advertised

Hi,

My router sometimes stops advertising RIP routes which are redistributed by static routes.

The static routes remain on the routing table at that time.

I don't know why this happens.

The router information is as below.

product:Cisco2620

IOS:12.1(8a)

Any solution would help me,

Thanks Kouichi

Do you mean you are redistributing Static routes via RIP? Assume you are, in which case static routes will be redistributed into RIP (via route-map or redist all static) as long as the static routes themselves remain in the routing table. Reasons why static routes may be removed from routing table include next hop interface failing (e.g ip route 192.168.10.0 via interface s1/0 will be removed if int s1/0 goes down) or if you learn same route via dynamic routing protocol (assume default admin distance used for RIP of 120) if statics have admin distance tag > 121 they will be removed. Hope this helps, if not can you post more config details (router redist bits and also section of routing table in normal and failed times)?

Regards

Pete
