RME 3.3 Cannot Import Device Information From WUG 7 Database
A customer is using CiscoWorks Small NMS Solution with the following components:
CWSNM-1.0-WIN CiscoWorks Small NMS Solution, Incl. WUG 7, CV 5.3, RME 3.3 S
It is said we can import Cisco device information (Device name, IP address, and SNMP community strings) from WhatsUp Gold database to Resource Manager Essentials inventory, as long as WhatsUp Gold console is running and the network map of the devices you wish to import is active.
Anyone has succesfully done the above? It never works in our case.
Re: RME 3.3 Cannot Import Device Information From WUG 7 Database
WhatsupGold is a non cisco or third party product. It is compatible with the Cisco NMS solutions. but then, it doesnt always work well. You can exclusively use whatsup gold for monitoring and collecting data but , as far as I know, you cannot import the data to RME.
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
