RME import to DFM fails

It seems that my DFM (1.2 with IDU 1.2.3) doesn't import devices from the RME (3.4) inventory anymore. (DFMChangeProbe is running). Import works fine for devices in the same DNS domain as the NMS, in the example router1 (which is not in the same domain) is actually router1.domain.net that's why it probably fails. Any ideas?

In the DfmChangeProbe.log the folowing error appears:

java.net.UnknownHostException: router1

at java.net.InetAddress.getAllByName0(Unknown Source)

at java.net.InetAddress.getAllByName0(Unknown Source)

at java.net.InetAddress.getByName(Unknown Source)

at com.cisco.nm.dfm.changeprobe.ProcessDeviceList.gatherInfoOnDevice(ProcessDeviceList.java:358)

at com.cisco.nm.dfm.changeprobe.ProcessDeviceList.processHost(ProcessDeviceList.java:255)

at com.cisco.nm.dfm.changeprobe.ProcessDeviceList.run(ProcessDeviceList.java, Compiled Code)

Re: RME import to DFM fails

Are you using 7100 or 7200 routers? If yes, import may fail due to a bug. Try the following change.

In RME > Administration > System Configuration, increase slow SNMP timeout to a value more than 60 sec.

Re: RME import to DFM fails

Import is failing for every device (Cat6509, Cat3550, Cat3548, 2500) outside the domain in which the NMS (CiscoWorks LMS) is located. Seems to be a resolve issue, however name-lookup works fine.
