RME Syslog Custom Message Filters

I am having problems defining a custom syslog message filter in RME 3.3.

I want to filter out all syslog messages from our 3548XL switches as FastEthernet links come updown.

I have added the LINK-*-3-UPDOWN message type to a custom filter, and specified a pattern of *FastEthernet*, but this does not seem to be working.

One of my references suggests that the wildcard for pattern text filters is the % character, not *. So I have also tried a pattern of %FastEthernet%, plus a number of other combinations.

I only want to filter the FastEthernet messages, not the GigabitEthernet updown messages.

Can someone please suggest the correct structure of the filter to achieve this?

Hi,

the wildcard for pattern text is the * character.

You can try an advanced filter settings or with these inteface configuration commands:

no logging event link-status

no snmp trap link-status
