Re: Router 1721 decompresses Image two times

Hi -

Sounds to me like you might have two images so the router is decompressing the image one after the other. Do cmd 'show flash' and see how many images you have got on the router.

Hope this helps -

No, it`s only one image in flash.

Here is the boot process an other info of the router:

Re: Router 1721 decompresses Image two times

Hi -

Ok, one image - from your router output, I notice the following:

Smart Init is enabled

smart init is sizing iomem

ID MEMORY_REQ TYPE

MainBoard 0X00027A80 1721

0X000F3BB0 public buffer pools

0X00211000 public particle pools

TOTAL: 0X0032C630

If any of the above Memory Requirements are

"UNKNOWN", you may be using an unsupported

configuration or there is a software problem and

system operation may be compromised.

This leads me to belive that you might have faulty memory / memory module !!

Also, have a look at this URL - Might help out:

Re: Router 1721 decompresses Image two times

I do not beleive you have a problem here , what is happening is the code is being loaded the first time and the box realizes it does not have enough IO memory allocated ,

Smart Init is enabled

smart init is sizing iomem

ID MEMORY_REQ TYPE

After this it loads the code again and comes up with

Allocating additional 1422488 bytes to IO Memory.

PMem allocated: 28804408 bytes; IOMem allocated: 4750024 bytes

program load complete, entry point: 0x80008000, size: 0x542624

Self decompressing the image : ###################################################################################################

[OK]

the line

Allocating additional 1422488 bytes to IO Memory.

leads me to believe the first time the box tries to load the code it realizes there is not enough IO then reloads the image and allocates the addtional IO that is needed .

you may be able to use the 'memory-size iomem ' command , I think it is only avail on 3600 & 2600 series but check it out it ma be avail on 1700 series , you can allocate additional iomem using this . Again I don't think you have an issue .
