router 2503 reboot error

One of our customer has a 2503 router which reload without any user interaction. this is happening occasionally.

This device was sold them many years ago, but i do not know which company was the seller.

i would like to know how can i detect who is the charge for the guarantee.

i have heard cisco can give information of any router was sold in the world using the product and serial number. (ex. what was the selling date, who sold it. etc.)

is it true? if it is then what should it do?

Re: router 2503 reboot error

Contact the TAC

and they should be able to look up the serial number and tell you if there is an active smartnet contract.

Re: router 2503 reboot error

A router may reboot due to a number of reasons, but the most common is a software error. Chances are the router is running into a software defect, and/or a traffic issue. Both of these issue can be determined by the TAC. Please call the TAC and open a case on the issue and they will be able to tell what is happening, why, and if the unit is under contract.
