Router Dial-Out speed far slower

Hi,

we have about numerous 2610XM with NM-8AM modules. Linux servers dial into these 2610XM's as well as Dial-Out from the routers into the Linux servers.

One of the sites is having a problem where all clients dialing into a particular 2610XM get connection speeds between 21.6 and 28.8kbps. When however, the router dials to any of the locally configured clients, the speed achieved is usally only 9600bps or less. The modem configs on all routers and Linux boxes are identical.

My questions is : are there any ways in the 2610XM to check the line quality as welll as any guide to trouble shoot low connection speeds?

Cheers,

gordon

Hello,

To troubleshoot your issue, start by upgrading the firmware to your modems to the latest and greatest version.

Apply an applicable modem cap for your modems in your configuration.

OK will have a look at the firmware - it does seem odd though that the same firmware in other modems work fine.
