Router id changes but still getting message of another duplicate router id

Hi,

i configured ospf and it automatically took the highest ip as its router id,now i wanted to change the router id to a loopback interface ,i disabled ospf and defined loopback interface and set the router id in ospf to it,it does change the router id if i do show ip ospf to the loopback interface ip,but i get the message for a duplicate router id giving the value of the previous one.

ANy ideas >>>???

When I added loopbacks, I actually had to reload the router to get it to take the loopback IP as the router ID. SH IP OSPF NEI on a nearby router should tell you how this router is known to the rest of the world.

I have to admit, I went right to reloading the router. I figured that trying to figure it out instead of just fixing it was more an acedemic exercise. When a warm supper is at home, I generally shy away from acedemics!
