Router notification when BGP session drops

I am trying to get a 7120 router to send a notification to HP Openview NNM when a BGP session drops. I have two T1s running BGP and if the BGP session drops I want the route to send a trap indicating that it has lost a connection.

Thanks,

Doug

Re: Router notification when BGP session drops

There's a trap for bgpEstablished but not for the BGP session frop. On the router you can setup snmp-server enable traps bgp which will enable the following BGP traps:

bgp--Sends Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) state change notifications.

This is from the BGP4-MIB-V1SMI.my and the notifications are:

enterprise 1.3.6.1.2.1.15.7

1 bgpEstablished

2 bgpBackwardTransition

See http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/477/SNMP/snmp_traps.html for more details.
