In global config mode, type "ip host RouterA ",

where is one of the router's interface address which is UP or which can be pinged. The is optional, use it if you want to add another ip address for the same host or hostname.

For the client to be able to ping the router or any other device, Hosts file, LMHosts file, WINS, or DNS should be properly configured and working.

You can define a DNS server on the router config using:

"ip name-server " global config command. Again, is optional and you can configure up to six name servers.

Hope this helps.

thanks a lot. that did help! regards.
