Is it possible to put to Router's 36XX with ATM Network modules back to back. If not what would be the best way to use a DS3

No, it's not possible without an ATM switch of some sort in between.
A HSSI module would require you to use a HSSI null modem cable, but at least you'd be able to use the DS3. That's about the only solution I can think of. Sorry it's not better news.

You can run ATM DS-3 modules back-to-back.
I have it running on a couple of test routers.
The limitation with back-to-back is that no SVC connectivity is possible, only PVC. This prohibits LANE from being used without a switch. Also, since ILMI can't be run, you should run a dynamic routing protocol on the link.
If you are interested, I can post the configs.
