Routers + Switch

In a LAN environment, having two routers 2500, each of its ethernet interface conncected to a switch. If each ethernet interface is on a different subnet going to the same switch. What positive and negative accomplishments it can be achieved with this arrangement?

Well first of all you are obviously using VLAN's on the switch (which creates multiple subents). By the sounds of it you are using the router interfaces as access links to each VLAN. The advantage of this is that you have a ports bandwidth dedicated to one VLAN. The disadvantage is that as you implement further VLAN's you have to buy an additional Ethernet interface on one of the routers to route traffic from that VLAN. The alternative is to use VLAN trunking such as 802.1Q or ISL.........

What are the requirements for trunking on a router? Certain model? Certain IOS? Certain speed?

For VLAN on the switch: ISL trunking is enable. SW 1900, Running Enterprise edition 8.0. Speed 100Mbps on the trunking ports. 10Mbps all others.
