routing dialup with fixed IPs

Hi

We have 7200 routers where we terminate the dialup users. Each router has its own address pool. However, some dialup users ask for static IP addresses. I don't know to which terminal router they will connect.

I am using ISIS between these routers and the rest of our network.

Since I am excluding the static IPs subnet from the ISIS announcement, I had to announce them as "connected" .

This will disturb the routing table with frequent triggered updates b/c of the connection/disconnection of the dialup.

Am I doing the right thing or is there a better solution.

Since there has been no response to your post, it appears to be either too complex or too rare an issue for other forum members to assist you. If you don't get a suitable response to your post, you may wish to review our resources at the online Technical Assistance Center (http://www.cisco.com/tac) or speak with a TAC engineer. You can open a TAC case online at http://www.cisco.com/tac/caseopen
