Routing IP over a serial connection - 1751s

I think this is an easy question?

I have to 1751s with LANs on either side and a serial WAN card in each connected to a 56k DSU/CSU. The interfaces and the protocals are up.

I don't know how to setup IP routing across the link. Do I need a PPP interface?

Can anybody give me the simple, no frills commands for configuring the WAN?

both are cisco routers, you dont really need ppp. default of hdlc is fine.
