routing on 2 routers

My 1721 router using private line to connect back to my branch site and recently bought a new 2620 router for internet access.

Which router should I use to act as gateway inorder for all my LAN ws to access internet and also my branch site.

Assume all my ws gateway is set to 2620 router. My LAN IP are 192.168.1.0/24 with 2620 router IP address is 192.168.1.2.How is the routing should go?

Re: routing on 2 routers

what type of internet connection do you have. The 2620 is capable of taking care of your lan side routing as well as the internet.

LAN ---2620---Internet.

Or you could do this. Does the 1721 have two lan interfaces. Use the 1721 for the routing on the inside. Use the 2620 with the WIC from the 1721 for internet connection.

lan ---ethernet--1721---ethernet---2620----T1 to internet

1721 should have a default route to 2620. 2620 should also have a route to the 192.168.1.0 network. Or you could run a very simple routing protocol such as RIP or even EIGRP.

Hope that helps
