Routing problem (dynamic IP)

Hello,

I have a LAN to LAN VPN connection with two 1721. GRE is also configured.

Let's say we have Router A, wich is in my LAN, and Router B.

The connection works fine but I have trubble to receive packages wich comes direct from the Router B, like SYSLOG or TFTP. The reason is, because the Router B send the data with the source IP-address from the dailer interface. The dailer interface get a dynamic IP-address from the internet provider.

Normaly I have to add this IP-address to the Access-List, but it is dynamic.

Does anybody know how to handle this? Or is it possible to configure the router to send the packages with a certain IP-address?

Thanks

Thomas

Re: Routing problem (dynamic IP)

In general if you want to change the source IP of your router, you could use IP unnumbered and use the IP/interface that you want. That is drastic, so to change your:

-logging source use the command "logging source-interface loop0"

-ntp source use the command "ntp source loop0"

-the tftp source use the command " ip tftp source-interface loop0"

-the telnet source use the command "ip telnet source-interface loop0"

Hope it helps.

Re: Routing problem (dynamic IP)

Hi Steve

I set the source-interface to the LAN interface (wich is allowed to go through the VPN) and it works.

Thanks

Thomas
