What would be the best approach for HUB-SPOKE WAN network consisting

of one hub and 200 spoke endpoints out of the following approaches?

1.) fully static routes ?

2) Fully ospf ( with several areas )?

3.) static and ospf mix with redistribute ?

Any referance/ sample would be appreciated.

If you are using Cisco routers for all sites and you do not require disabling CDP, you might want to try using ODR:

Hi,

using static routes would be an administrative overhead.

You can use either ospf or eigrp. I have seen networks running EIGRP over a 1500 remotes...Its pretty stable.
