routing to isdn

can anyone show me the correct way of using static routes with isdn, do we point the route to the dialler/BRI interface or just the other end ?

If you have the dialer map, you can point to the remote IP ad next-hop.

If you there is no dialer map, you can point to the dialer interface.

The most important is the "interesting packet" that will trigger the dialer to dial to remote side. So, the access-list, static route is important. Normally not to enable default route unless it is the only connection, otherwise, it will trigger the dialer all the time if there is out-going packet.

I gather we only have dialler maps when we configure the bri interface to only dial 1 location, is this right ?

Yes, you can use either dialer map (apply at ISDN interface) or dialer string (apply at dialer interface). If only one location, user ISDN and dialer map may be samplier.
