RSH

Hi all,

can I use RSH to run multiple commands inside router.

Now, it can only run one command ie ping, show version.

How about if I want to change IP address, change ACL, delete config etc.

So, the RSH be able to do

conf t

interfac s0

no ip access-group 7 in

This is helpful especially when we make mistake to acl and apply to line vty and we cannot telnet after that.

Thanks,

Re: RSH

I suppose you want to get the running configuration changed if you do a mistake. To solve the problem just add a timer that reload the router before you start to configure. So if you cut your self off the router reloads with the unchanged startup-config, and then you can start all over.

Ex for a 5 min delay.

router#reload in 5

and when your finished with your config -->

router#reload cancel

Dont forget to save the config when it works.

Hope this helps you

Re: RSH

Hi there,

What if we want to configure 40 routers ie to add 3 lines config related to snmp.

I don't want to telnet all the routers and do repeat same jobs until all done.

I know CiscoWorks have this function but we don't have CW inside our network.

That's why i'm thinking to use RSH and a script to automate the job.

rgds,
