Re: RSP4/4+

The only dofference between the RSP4 and the RSP+ is that the RSP4+ uses ECC protected memory and the RSP4 did not. Also when released the RSP+ also came with a default of 64Mb of memory against the 32Mb on the RSP4.

The release of the RSP+ was covered by Product Bulletin No. 1231

Re: RSP4/4+

The big question is what enhancement the ECC protected memory gives. Does anyone have any information on this.

Re: RSP4/4+

ECC provides te ability to detect and correct single bit errors in main memory and to report mulitiple bit errors.

A single-bit error is a single bit of data that is incorrect in a word read from memory. For SBEs, the error can be corrected without disruption to operations.
