Hi,

For monitoring the site to site response , I need to configure rtr on Cisco 3662. But when i give the rtr command, I receive the error "%No memory left to create probes".

Memory of the router is 64MB and the IOS is 12.2 which supports rtr.

Below attached is the output of "sh memory summary"

Head Total(b) Used(b) Free(b) Lowest(b) Largest(b)

Processor 62125300 21867776 19647008 2220768 1398384 2103252

I/O 3600000 10485760 8138452 2347308 2127832 2200156

Can anyone help me solve this prob. ? I configured rtr on the same series routers before but never faced this problem.

RTR assumes a default 25% of free memory as low-water mark. If the available free memory is less than this value, then probes will not be created. This low-memory water mark can be changed with the "rtr low-memory" command.

If your router has 64 MB, you need 16 MB (25%) for rtr to work, by default. I guess you can change this with 'rtr low-memeory" command

See the following link for more information on the command:
