RTS constantly on

The question is: how can I make the router control the RTS signal on async RS232 line. I have 'flowcontrol hardware out' in my line config but it appears it has no effect whatsoever. Even if the flowcontrol is set to none I can see the RTS asserted.

I need this setup to control a dumb serial device which requires DCD to be on to receive data (I have wired router's RTS to serial device DCD).

Thanks

Re: RTS constantly on

As long as the DTE has data to send, it will assert the RTS signal. If you are connecting two DTEs together, you can use a null-modem cable.
