Running multiple clusters and heart beats on two VLAN's
I have a requirement for 4 projects each with there own clustering requirements and heart beats. I have heard that this is very chattery traffic. The equipment is SUN and EMC equipment. Since this trafic is non-routable and at layer 2.
Can I have all 4 projects connected to the two VLAN's? Has anyone run into issues with this kind of solution? I'm trying to save on VLAN's and subnets for each project.
Re: Running multiple clusters and heart beats on two VLAN's
Creating VLANs to divide broadcast domains is a good idea, Once you create a VLAN you cannot communicate without a L3 device. This depends upon the type of switch your using ( L2 or L3). Please go through the document below for more details.
