Same VLAN on Multiple sites

Wanting to know if this is possible. Currently have multiple sites connected using GRE. Some sites have multiple VLANS others just have one. Wanting to create one additional VLAN that spans all remote sites but it will have to be the same VLAN. Can this be done?

Thanks

Re: Same VLAN on Multiple sites

I think you can do this using IRB (Integrated Routing Bridging) and remote transparent bridging. But spanning VLANS over WAN links is not a recommended solution. If your concern is security and limiting access you can do this in a routed topology and additional security features (at least ACLs).

Re: Same VLAN on Multiple sites

I just want to have a subnet that is available at all remote sites, besides the native VLAN that is on that site.

Re: Same VLAN on Multiple sites

Please check the "Bridging over a WAN Network" section in http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk331/tk660/technologies_tech_note09186a0080094471.shtml

document. This example simply bridges two vlans seperated by a WAN link and hosts belonging to the same subnet can can reside on these vlans. This example may be the starting point. Hope this helps.
