I'm in need of a means to automatically save my router config, either periodically or anytime when there is a config change. Does anybody have any idea how this could be done.
Thanks.

What a shame, In that case you should write e.g. a perl script which telnet into the box and performs the action

You should find some open soruce scripts at: http://sourceforge.net/docman/?group_id=25401

Rancid (Really Awesome New Cisco confIg Differ) is, in fact, really awesome. Run it from cron on any of the popular Unix and Unix-like OSs, it downloads configs, stores them in CVS, and emails the diffs for any changed configs.
It supports IOS, CatOS, PIX, Juniper, HP Procurve, Foundry, Redback, and Extreme devices.
It's also free.

You could use a DOS command tool called WRNET which is freeware and works well as long as you have SNMP enabled on your devices. Use this in a sheduled batch job and you can back up your configs nightly/weekly.

Hi, I use Kiwi CatTools to backup my configs. I have the demo version but it worked. Here's the URL http://www.kiwisyslog.com/
