Can I configure an IOS router to dial out on a scheduled basis? I have 25 sites that I want to dial out every night at midnight and stay up for 30 minutes so I can make updates to the configuration. None of them have broadband and they are all dial on demand with ports 53, 80 and 443 as interesting traffic
Create a time-based ACL that only permits the traffic you mentioned above. Configure the time-range command to be effective only between midnight-12:30am. Associate the ACL with the dialer-list configured to trigger the DDR traffic. Ofcourse, for time-based ACL to function accurately the router should derive the clock from an NTP source.
