Hi forum,
Is there a way to backup the router and switches configuration on a schedule basis? Or is there a better way of doing so?
Thanks and regards,
paul

HI
IF you looking foy multiple cisco deices to take backup you have Cisco Configuration Engine.....
The Cisco Configuration Engine is a network management application that acts as a configuration service for automating the deployment and management of network devices and services. The Cisco Configuration Engine runs on the Cisco 2116 Intelligence Engine hardware platform.

if you have ciscoWorks you should be able to do regularly scheduled configuration backups.
or you can use the SolarWinds Config Viewer. please see the following link for more info on this utility:

there are several solutions for this:
linux/unix based: rancid, expect, mrat
MS based kiwi enterprises,etc. mrat+activeperl
I prefer rancid personally, as it also compares the configs and reports on differences.

Hi all,
Thanks much for all the suggestion. I think I can only try the kron or the kiwi enterprise.
Thanks much for all the suggestion.
