Secondary address with ip helper address applied

Hi everybody.

I need to apply a secondary address on a router ethernet interface and use the IP HELPER ADDRESS so that users on that subnet would get their ip address from a DHCP server. How can I use the IP HELPER ADDRESS interface command without making users from the primary subnet use that server configured?

Thanks in advance.

Marcelle.

Re: Secondary address with ip helper address applied

Marcell, The secondary will not be assigned addresses through the IP helper command. So the solution would be put your existing primary on the secondary and the new on the primary. This will server addresses out to the new but not the old.
