Serial backup on demand using Vsat.

Hello,

I am looking at using a new Vsat link as backup to another leased line already existing on a router.

I desire to make it come up only when certain parameters (majorly when primary is down) are met but I can only find DoD/DDR stuff with ISDN and Asynchronous lines on the Net.

Any quick suggestion and/or pointers would be appreciated. Meanwhile my network uses TACACS+ extensively and would like a solution that allows that if possible.

Rgds,

Kings

Re: Serial backup on demand using Vsat.

You can use "backup interface ---" command under primary interface config and point to an backup interface which will be up when primary fails. Yaou can find additional info on this command at:

Hope it helps. Regards.
