Is it possible for two 2600 routers with Serial ports to be connect using a 2000 ft serial cable? If so, What are the Pros and Cons? Thanks in advance.

it is possible.............. if you have a ready made cross cable available it is no probs.................. if not......... then try the dry pair cable concept with converters.......... try to amplify the signal.......... will give better performance.....

i don't know 2000 feet how much is it in meters, but if the distance is very important , make leased line using modems.

Hi,
I'm not sure about the maximum lenght on unamplified lines, you'll have to either try it or calculate the strenght of the signal. Anyway it is lot cheaper to use leased line with modems on both side then laying your own cable. The cable itself will cost you $$$.
Hope this helps
