Serial Interface automatically resetting

Are there any reasons why a serial interface on a 1601 router should reset on its own? The router does not reset as we have confirmed this with a sh ver command. Also, are there commands to confirm when the reset of an interface has taken place and how many times the interface has reset since the router was rebooted?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Serial Interface automatically resetting

sh int s0 will show the number of resets since last boot or last clear counters. When you are running eigrp or ospf, routes over s0 will have their time active reset on a reset of the interface, so -sh ip route- could give a clue about the last time the interface was reset. This is not 100% waterproof as there are other reasons for this timer to be reset.
