serial interface debug command

Is there a debug command for a router serial interface that will display on a console when the link goes down?

Re: serial interface debug command

There is a command enabled by default on all interfaces, "logging event link-status" which will cause a message to be printed whenever the interface goes up or down. Again, this should be on by default for serial interfaces and you should be able to readily test this.

Re: serial interface debug command

When I have a subinterface go down, it does not get logged. I can't find the command that you reference.

Re: serial interface debug command

Enter the 'logging event subif-link-status'-command in your interface. That is not in your sub-interface.

Good luck
