Serial Interface up ... Line Protocol Up ... But Ping Fails ...

Our Central Site and the Remote Site is connected Using Satellite Tech (PAMA - Frame-relay)

We faced the following issue ....

There is no connectivity between the Central Site and the Remote Site. This is ensured by the Failure of ping, traceroute and other applications. But when we see the router interface at both the ends (remote & central site), we find both the serial interace and the line protocol up ...

When we switched confign & the cable connectivity from Serial 0/0 to Serial 0/1 on the remote router the issue resolved ...

What could have been the problem with the Serial 0/0 Interface ...

In "sh int s0/0" do you see any crc errors, packet drops? Was this working fine before? Also ensure we do not have any routing issues.....what does "deb ip packet detail" for a ping show (add access list for debugs).

Just for testing sake if you move back to serial0/0 & the same problem exsists then there could be an faulty port (se0/0).
