I want to set ACLs to block downloading/file-sharing activities on our network.
iM new to this., could anyone share some help.

Hi,
There is quite a wide variety of file-sharing, P2P applications, etc out there people are using. Each of them uses a different port range (default) and these can be changed, and also some applications dynamically look to see what ports can be used. Some can be configured to use proxies as well.
There are also different ways of blocking , limiting , or shaping such traffic. (ACLs, NBAR, CAR, QoS, etc). You can do this by port #s if you know them, but you need to be cautious as this could block/effect legitimate application traffic. When you say downloads, do you want to block general HTTP downloads of ZIP files, etc as well?

I want to block a certain P2P application (not to mention its name), can you provide me a ACL paramater or syntax?
