setting up vpn client

when we set up vpn's over the internet, the pix or router gives us a private ip address via a tunnel, as the connection is to a public address, i would of thought that because we are getting assigned a 192.168.1.x address, we would need to have a router with an interface ip on that subnet somewhere ?

Nope. All you need to do is make sure your core network routing process knows to route to the PIX for that subnet if the PIX is not already the default gateway for the lan.

HTH pls rate!

so in theory the default gateway for the vpn clients is the pix public address, and you can assign any dhcp pool to go out the tunnel, how to you make the addresses only to get assigned to that tunnel ?
