When issuing the show users command from 3 7200 routers running 12-2-10 IOS, it takes an extremely long time for the output to come back, approx 30 seconds. Is there a known bug with this train of software, as it seems that by issuing this command, it consumes the router's resources.

You have "ip domain-lookup" enabled on your routers. With this command enabled, the router tries to do a reverse name-lookup on the IP address from which the connection was originated.
One easy fix of this situation is to configure in your routers "no ip domain-lookup".
Another way to fix this is to configure a DNS server in the router, and have the IP address which are connecting to your router registered in the DNS, which might be a lot of work if you have many LAN users connecting to your routers.
