Re: Show CEF adjency question

The CEF adjacency table essentially contains the ethernet header to be used for sending frames out that interface. So in this case, the following applies:

Source address = 00605C865B82

Destination address = 000164F83FA5 (the first 12 characters of 000164F83FA50800)

EtherType = 0800 (which is the EtherType for IP traffic).

Pls do remember to rate posts that help.

Re: Show CEF adjency question

Thanks for you message. More:

After GigabitEthernet9/5, there are both IP and MAC address, such as 172.20.53.206(11)

00605C865B82 000164F83FA50800

ARP 03:49:31

What is the meaning of 172.20.53.206, MAC, and ARP here? Thanks.
