Sinec h1 protocol (Industrial Ethernet) on Catalyst Switches?

Hi,

I have an Industrial client who want to replace their optical hubs with switches. They have an fibre backbone and run ethernet over fibre to the PC's.

However they also run process control electronics using Siemens SINEC H1 protocol.

Does anyone know if Cat switches can support this protocol and if so is any special config or Cat OS required?

Regards,

Martin

The Siemens SINEC H1 protocol is a ISO OSI layer 4 protocol. It runns over the ethernet data link layer, so no configuration is required for catalyst switches.
